Starting from the 2024/25 season .. The new Champions League system is different, exciting and very wonderful.

Here is an easy, simple and clear explanation of the new system in this tweet.

 • The number of teams in the tournament is 36 teams, not 32

• There will be a league table, not a system of 8 different groups

• By draw.. Each team will play against 8 different teams in the groups

• Where each team will play four matches at home and four matches away from home, and this will be determined by draw

• Each team will play against two teams from each classification

• Meaning that your team will play two matches against a team from the first classification (one at home and the second away from home) and the same thing with the second, third and fourth classifications.

 • The first 8 teams in the league table qualify directly to the round of 16

• Teams from 9th to 24th place will play against some home and away knockout matches to determine the 8 teams that will qualify for the round of 16

• Teams from 25th to 36th place will be eliminated directly from the tournament and there is no such thing as relegation to the Europa League

• The matches will be played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

• You cannot play against a team from the same country

• You may play against two teams from the same country

• Each team has 8 matches different from the other team

• But in the last round, all the matches will be played at the same time and on the same day (same league system) so that there is fairness in the competition.

How will the draw be made?

The draw for the Champions League next season will be done by computer and not manually.

At first, 36 teams will be drawn manually but after that, 8 matches will be determined for each team by computer.

 — The computer will give each team 8 matches in the group stage.

— Each team will play against 2 from the same level.

— 2 from level 1 (1 home and 1 away).

— 2 from level 2 (1 home and 1 away).

— 2 from level 3 (1 home and 1 away).

— 2 from level 4 (1 home and 1 away).

— 4 home and 4 away.

• The draw will be held on Thursday, August 29.
